Arrival in Cairo on day 1

2 Days

Day 1: Arrival & Meetup

This is your chance to experience a new and exotic destination to the absolute fullest. Boys & Girls – welcome to Egypt. Spot your Metanoia Rep at the airport. Then: dump your stuff at the hotel and meet your fellow explorers by the pool.

Today, we’ll first hop aboard a wooden felucca sailboat and watch the local life as the sun sets by the Nile river. Then we’ll head downtown for a food tour, expect everything from street food to casual dining. It's your first Egyptian dinner with the squad, DIG IN!

Day 2: Great Pyramids & the Sphinx

You’ve read about them in books. Seen them in documentaries. And watched them play backdrop to movie after movie. But today, you’re gonna experience the AMAZING Pyramids of Giza in real life. Prepare to feel insignificant (in the best possible way) as you stand before the Great Pyramids and the legendary Sphinx.

After a full day of historic adventures, we’ll explore the ancient Khan El Khalili bazaar before jumping on an overnight train to Aswan. Nothing gives you a more up-close look at a place than riding local!

Day 3: Philae Temple & Nile Cruise

This morning we'll wake up in Aswan, today is all about jaw drops from start to end.
First up, we’ll explore the temple of Isis in nearby Philae, our Local Guide will get you in the know on A to Z and everything in-between. Then take a stroll along the High Dam before we make our way to the Nubian Village. Hope you got your camera, you’ll definitely want to put this on the gram.

Tonight is a taste of the high life with a luxury cruise on the River Nile, no less. This is the first of 3 nights we'll spend on the water, soaking up Egypt from its iconic waterway.

Day 4: Kon Ombo & Abu Simbel

Enjoy waking up to the Nile and sand dunes as your backdrop, while you sip your coffee and ponder just how good life is.

Optional: This morning you have a chance to explore Abu Simbel's Temple of Ramses II, one of the world's most iconic sites dating back to 1264 BC.

​

Later today we’ll sail upstream on our cruise towards the ancient Edfu. After green fields, the Arabian desert and palm trees aplenty have teased our eyes along the Nile, we'll pull in for a peak at the perfectly symmetrical town of Kom Ombo. This village's famous temple is dedicated to the God of Crocodile, and the God of Falcon and with it's stunning setting right by the Nile is the perfect spot to head on-land for some exploring.

Day 5: Luxor & Karnak Temple

A spot of temple time is up for grabs this morning, complete with a Greco-Roman history lesson & plenty of photo ops. Shortly after, we'll cast off in the direction of Luxor.

As soon as we step foot on Luxor terrain, we'll start spinning our way into the historical mysteries of this magnificent town including the Luxor & Karnak Temple. Which is the largest temple ever built by man! Tomorrow the Luxor discoveries continue, so there's no need to cram it all in on day one.

Hurghada

2 Nights stay

Day 6: Valley of Kings & Hurghada Beach Town

Another day, another bucket-list item well-and-truly ticked off the list. Insert: Valley of the Kings. We’ll spend the morning getting schooled on the funerary rites of the ancient Egyptians and the many hieroglyphics painted throughout three significant royal tombs – including Hatshepsut Temple and the Colossi of Memnon.

 

Later, Hop aboard our coach and hit the road to beachtown of Hurghada. Spend the afternoon horizontal by the pool or beachside. And later? Dinner’s on us. Get. In.

Day 7: Red Sea Diving/Snorkelling & Beach Clubs

Today is 100% up to you. Heard about the incredible Red Sea diving here? Yeah, us too. Jump aboard an optional snorkelling/scuba boat trip and explore the abundance of marine life and coral reefs for yourself. Prefer to stay on land? Hop aboard a Quad ATV and uncover the barren desert of Hurghada.

 

Later, follow your trip leader to one of the rare nightclubs of Egypt. Tonight can be as loose or civilised as you want it to be :P
