Day 1: Arrival + Walking Tour + Train Street
Welcome to Hanoi. A capital with nearly 9 million people, HCMC is a bubbling pot of energy, excitement and hidden gems. Meet your fellow explorers and kick things off with a delicious street food tour through the Old Quarter. Our in-the-know Trip Leader will take us to all the local spots for Banh Mi, spring rolls and egg coffee – trust us, it’s good. Then: head to Ta Hien (aka beer street) to experience Hanoi’s nightlife. Oh yes, this is the right way to get the Vietnam party started.

Halong Bay Cruise

Day 2: Halong Bay Party Cruise
Halong Bay: World Heritage Site. The jewel in Vietnam’s crown. One of the ‘New 7 Wonders of Nature’. Whichever way you look at it, Halong Bay is pretty damn special. So today we’ll travel from Hanoi to Halong bay where we’ll board our overnight party cruise. This isn't just any boat—it's equipped with an outdoor jacuzzi and a water trampoline!
Spend the day swimming in glittering emerald water, kayaking through limestone islands, digging into freshly made meals, and dancing into the sunset with your trip mates.

Day 3: Cooking Class + Ninh Bihn
Wake up, rub your eyes, no you’re really here. Take in your surroundings before heading onto the open deck for some breakfast and a large coffee. Huge limestone rock formations in amongst teal waters and luscious green forestry surround us. So sit back, relax and enjoy the 360 degree views.
We’ll spend the afternoon learning how to make mouth wateringly tasty spring rolls from the master chef before we say goodbyes and head back to the pier. Next, the rice paddies and vast limestone mountains of Ninh Binh await us where we’ll be staying in a local homestay along the river.

Day 4: Trang An Valley + Mua Cave
We’re off to Trang An Valley this morning, where we'll hop into small boats and paddle through mystical caves and past lush islands. Get ready to be amazed by the emerald green forests and endless rice paddies.
In the afternoon, you can kick back or grab a bike to explore and snag some epic Insta shots. But save your energy—by mid-afternoon, we’re climbing 500 steps up Hang Mua Cave for a jaw-dropping sunset view over the valley! Then, we’re heading to ancient Hoi An by overnight train! It’s your chance to catch up on sleep and swap stories with your trip mates. It doesn’t get more authentic than this.

Day 5: Hoi An Old Town + Boat Ride
Time to rise and shine. After travelling South overnight, you'll be waking up in stunning Hoi An. This canal city is a beautiful patchwork of French, Japanese & Chinese civilizations that left their imprint here.
Bike riding through the vibrant town, visiting an ancient bridge & a boat ride to witness the lantern-filled magic of Hoi An will colour our day. Tonight, head out with your trip leader for dinner at one of our most favourite restaurants in the entire Vietnam!

Day 6: Ba Na hills + Cable Cars + Golden Hand Bridge
Today, we’re off to Ba Na Hills, a mountaintop resort that looks like a mediaeval castle! Ride on one of the world’s longest cable cars and a thrilling self-controlled alpine coaster. Snap pics on the Insta-famous Golden Hand Bridge, and explore the mini French village built on the mountaintop.
In the evening, gather your squad and hit the other side of the river, where clubs and bars await for a night of epic partying.

Day 7: Food Tour + An Bang Beach
You wanted a free day to explore. So, here it is. Go shopping or perhaps visit a local tailor to get a custom suit or dress made (a popular thing to do here). You can also ride on one of Vietnam’s very own Bamboo Basket Boats (Yes, the ones that you’ve probably seen on Instagram). Once you have worked up an appetite there's also an optional street food tour to get stuck into.
This evening, may we suggest a local beach club for sunset cocktails? Go on, you know you want too!

Ho Chi Minh City

Day 8: Backpacker Street + Party
Snag a window seat and wave goodbye to Hoi An – we’re setting the flight path for Ho Chi Minh City. This is one of Asia's most exhilarating cities, steeped in grand history and post-Vietnam war memories.
Check in to your hotel and settle in before we head out this evening for an orientation walk around the city. Post dinner, we’ll head straight to Bui Vien street. This wild neon lit strip packed with bars is where the night comes alive in Ho Chi Minh City!

Day 9: Cu Chi Tunnels + Fire AK47
Pull out your history hat – we’re off to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels. Surrounded by jungle that was once a stronghold of the Viet Cong, take a guided tour of the area and learn all about how this underground network was used by guerilla fighters during the Vietnam War. The most adrenaline pumping experience at the tunnels is the option to fire real AK-47s/M16s in the shooting range.
In the evening we get dressed up for our last BIG night out in Vietnam with the Metanoia Fam today.

Day 10: Goodbyes
Enjoy one final breakfast with the squad this morning before the trip wraps up. On your way back to HCM airport you’ll realise that for the rest of your travels, you will automatically compare it to Vietnam. A special country, full of special people, places and now, memories.
